Dementia
What is dementia?
Dementia is not a single condition, but a term used to describe the symptoms connected to memory loss and cognitive decline. There are several forms of dementia, and multiple symptoms, including:
· Trouble with language and communication
· Difficulty maintaining attention and focus
· Changes in visual perception
· Poor reasoning and judgment
· Problems with short-term memory
Dementia symptoms tend to worsen over time. For many men and women, minor issues with short-term memory and reasoning skills are easy to overlook or chalk up to a busy lifestyle. Over time, however, these issues become more noticeable.
