    • West Tennessee Neurology accepts most commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. Please call the office to inquire about a specific plan.

  • WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO PREPARE FOR AN EMG?
    • Please do not put any lotions or other type of chemicals on the area that is going to be tested. These lotions, perfumes, etc. do not allow the electrodes to adhere to the area. If you are having this study done on your upper extremities, you will need to wear short sleeves. If you are having this study done on your lower extremities, you will need to wear pants that can be pulled up to your knees. If you put any lotions, perfumes, etc. on the areas to be tested, the procedures will be rescheduled.

  • WHAT IS AN EMG?
    • An EMG is the study of nerve function and integrity. The EMG/NCS is a useful diagnostic tool that assesses the integrity of the peripheral nervous system.

  • WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO PREPARE FOR AN EEG?
    • Please do not use any hair oil, cream or spray before you test. You may consume your usual diet EXCEPT FOR CAFFEINE, such as coffee, tea, cocoa, Coke, or Pepsi after midnight the day prior to the EEG test. Please make sure you do not have any braids, tracks, dreads, etc. on the day of the EEG as this can block the areas where the electrodes need to be placed. Hair must be DOWN, NATURAL, CLEAN AND DRY.

  • WHAT IS AN EEG?
    • An EEG is a test to measure and record electrical activity of the brain.

  • HOW DO I GET THE RESULTS OF ANY TESTS THAT HAVE BEEN ORDERED?
    • We do not give test results over the telephone. The doctor will go over all test results with you on your next scheduled appointment.

  • WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING TO THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE IF I AM A NEW PATIENT?
    • You will need to bring your insurance information and list of current medications. If you need help filling out the paperwork for our office, please bring someone to assist you.

  • HOW DO I GET A PRESCRIPTION REFILLED OR RENEWED?
    • Call your pharmacy when you are down to a 3-day supply. If you don’t have any refills, then call our office. Refills are called in within 48 hours. If you have not seen the doctor in 6 months or more, you will need to make an appointment to get refills.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENT?
    • We make every effort to get new patients in as soon as possible. The waiting time for new patients is no longer than 2 weeks. For all routine visits, we are able to offer you the next available office visit.
